Cobus van Bosch

Cobus van Bosch is a Cape Town based artist and arts writer. He works in a variety of media, including casts in metal, compositions of found objects, drawing, painting, as well as the odd performance and other conceptual projects. His art often incorporates aspects of geometry, pattern and topography to highlight a variety of socio political issues of our time, as well as the past. Bodies of work include designs of cast iron manhole covers, topographical maps of historic battle fields (constructed from bone fragments), studies of cloud formations (painting), cityscapes (painting) and, more recently, portraits of forgotten freedom fighters of southern Africa.
